How do I get from Hoi An to Da Nang city?
Grab is the easiest option at 200,000–280,000 VND for the 30km trip. The public bus (Bus 1) costs 30,000 VND but takes 60+ minutes with stops and drops you at Da Nang bus station, not your destination. For Da Nang airport specifically, expect 280,000–350,000 VND by Grab.
Grab (recommended)
Price: 200,000–280,000 VND Time: 30–40 minutes Availability: 24/7
Open the Grab app, set destination to your Da Nang address or “Da Nang City Center.” The app picks up from anywhere in Hoi An — inside or outside the pedestrian zone (drivers know the drop points).
Grab pricing is fixed at booking — no negotiation, no surprises. For airport trips, set the destination to “Da Nang International Airport (DAD).”
Public bus (budget option)
Price: 30,000 VND Time: 60–90 minutes Hours: 5:30am–6pm
Bus 1 runs the Da Nang–Hoi An route with stops throughout both cities. The Hoi An stop is near the central market on Tran Phu Street. The bus terminates at Da Nang bus station (Tân Kỳ), not at the city center or beach areas.
From Da Nang bus station, you’ll need another Grab or taxi to reach your destination — add 30,000–60,000 VND and 10–15 minutes.
Best for: Budget travelers without luggage who aren’t pressed for time.
Taxi
Price: 280,000–400,000 VND (negotiated or metered) Time: 30–40 minutes
Taxis wait at the major tourist hotels and at the old town entry points. Always agree on a price before getting in, or insist on a meter. Mai Linh taxis (green) are reliable and use meters. Avoid unmarked touts.
